In times of budget cuts and numerous questions about city programs and services, it's nice to see that some city workers are being recognized for their efforts.

Austin's Engineering Department captured an award, along with a Rochester construction firm, that was given on the criteria of aesthetics, ridability and construction materials.

City Engineer Jon Erichson told the city council the award was "no small accomplishment."

We also tip our hat to those involved in the award that not only benefits local residents, but makes this city look good as well.
