Here is a list of summer camps offered to area youth in various sports for the coming months.
Basketball
The Austin High School boys' basketball program will be putting on a pair of camps for interested youth going into grades 1-4 in July at Packer Gym.
Boys' basketball coach Kris Fadness, staff and players will instruct. The camp is offered for boys entering grades 1-2 and 3-4, and will be July 14-18.

Sign up now for the Summer Sharpshooter basketball camps being directed by Austin High School girls' basketball coaches Gary Peterson and Jeff Hovland and members of this year's Big Nine Conference co-champion Packers.
Camps are being offered for girls entering grades 1-9, starting with grades 7-9 on June 16-20. Girls in grades 5-6 will have camp June 23-27; grades 1-2 and 3-4 will run on July 14-18. All camps will be in Packer Gym at Austin High.
Fees vary depending on age group. Sign-up forms are available at the elementary, junior high and high school athletic offices, at Sportts Restaurant or from Coach Peterson. Ribbons, T-shirts and certificates will be given on the last day of camp.

New Riverland Community College men's basketball coach Darin Johnson has announced that the Blue Devils will be hosting a summer camp in July for interested boys entering grades 4-9.
Two camps will be offered -- a shooting camp on July 1 and a skills camp July 7-10.

The Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx will hold a 2003 Summer Basketball Camp at the Rochester Community Center from July 7-11. The registration fee for the five-day camp is $199.
Timberwolves and Lynx day camps are six-hour days that include chalk talks, fundamental drills, team contests, station work, position skills, fast-break leagues and fun time.
All campers will receive a basketball, reversible mesh jersey, camp medal and certificate. The camps feature a 12-to-1 ratio of campers to instructors. Each camp has an enrollment limit in order to maximize teaching opportunities.

Hockey
AHS girls' hockey coach Denny Bray and his staff will be offering dry land training this summer at Packer Arena.
Sessions are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. to 4:40 p.m. until the end of July. They will focus on stick-handling, shooting, and conditioning and are open to girls of all ages.

Wrestling
Mark your calendar for June 24-26 as Austin Youth Wrestling will be hosting a camp at Riverside Arena. It is open to anyone entering kindergarten through 12th grade.
Cost is $25, and an additional $10 for additional family members. Every camper will receive a T-shirt.

Volleyball
The Riverland Community College volleyball program is looking to put on a trio of camps for area youth this summer.
Blue Devil head coach Helen Jahr and her squad will be providing three camps, starting July 21-25 for girls entering grades 4-6. That camp will run from 10 a.m. to noon daily, and deadline for registering is July 14.
The second camp offered by Riverland will run from July 28 to August 1. The camp deadline is July 21 for girls entering grades 7-10, and it will last three hours daily.
The final camp this summer will be August 4-8 for varsity teams, and the registration deadline is July 28.
