Georgia L. Byrnes, 61
Georgia Lynn Byrnes, 61, of Lyle, died July 22, 2003, at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester.
She was born Nov. 3, 1941, in Indio, Calif.
On May 28, 1977, she married Robert L. Byrnes at South Shore Lake Tahoe, Calif.
Georgia worked for Bank of America in San Francisco, was a branch manager of First Hawaiian Bank in Napili, Hawaii and later was the librarian at Lyle Public Library.
She enjoyed her crafts, sewing, PPH Support Group, Lyle Study Club, traveling and her animals.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Byrnes, Lyle; sons, Michael (Amy Davidson) Fike, Glendale, Ariz.; Doug (Lorrie) Fike, Petaluma, Calif.; Jeffrey (Teresa Jenson) Neese, Lyle; daughters, Michelle Davis, Royalton; Merideth Fike, Chicago, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; brother, Greg (Anna) LeVezu, Beaumont, Calif.; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation: One hour before the service at the church.
Memorial Service: 3 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2003, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Lyle with the Rev. Barbara Finley-Shea officiating.
Funeral Home: Worlein Funeral Home, Austin.

Norma Meyers, 88
Norma Meyers, 88, of Adams, died Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at Adams Health Care Center.
She was born Dec. 3, 1914, in Adams, to Henry and Rachel (Gullickson) Christenson. She graduated from Adams High School in 1933 and worked in Rochester at the Kahler Drug Store until her marriage.
On Feb. 19, 1938, she married Raphael Meyers in Racine, Wis. They lived in several places due to Ray's employment . After retirement, the couple returned to Adams and became members of Little Cedar Lutheran Church. After Ray's death in 1997, Norma moved to the Cedar Court Apartments and later to the Health Care Center.
Survivors include her son, John Meyers, Bloomington; a grandson; sisters, Margie Osmundson, Adams; Lois Osmundson, Adams.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Charles; granddaughter, Kristine Meyers; and two sisters.
Visitation: One hour before the service.
Service: 2 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2003, at the funeral home with the Rev. Lydia Mittag officiating. Casket bearers will be David Osmundson, James Southwick, Jon Osmundson, Mark Osmundson, David Lagerstedt and Ryan Wolff.
Interment: Little Cedar Lutheran Cemetery, Adams.

Margaret G. Combs, 90
Margaret G. (Norton) Combs, 90, of Austin, died Wednesday, July 23, 2003, at the Austin Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 14, 1913, in Windom, to James and Laura (Dickman) Norton. Their family included five boys and five girls.
In 1929, she married Kenneth M. Combs. He died May 7, 2000.
Margaret belonged to the Philomathian Club and St. Elizabeth Rosary Group at St. Augustine Catholic Church. She loved reading, camping, country music, gardening and keeping up on world news. She especially enjoyed her family.
Survivors include daughters, Mary Jo Edwards, Austin; Carolyn Taber, Austin; Betty (Jack) Beecroft, Amery, Wis.; Helen (John) Scheid, Rochester; Margaret (Don) Pell, Santa Ana, Calif.; son, Bill (Holly) Combs, Mariposa, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Combs, Des Moines, Iowa; 26 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, a son, a daughter, five brothers and four sisters.
Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2003, with a 7:30 p.m. wake service and Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Joseph Fogal officiating.
Interment: Calvary Cemetery.

Faith M. Schmidt
Faith Marie Schmidt, stillborn daughter of Kim and Jim Schmidt of Winona and formerly of Austin, Minn., died on July 22, 2003, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse, Wis.
Faith is survived by her parents, Kim and Jim Schmidt, Winona; two brothers, Hunter and Andrew, at home; maternal grandparents, Sandra (Doug) Landers, Rochester, Minn.; and Grant Pickering, Muscatine, Iowa; paternal grandparents, Gary and Judy Schmidt, Houston, Minn.; maternal great-grandparents, Jim and Margaret Stock, Lone Tree, Iowa; paternal great-grandmothers, Bette Schmidt, Winona; and Phoebe Bambenek, Winona; two aunts, Amy (Nick) Schneider, Houston, Minn.; and Catherine Schmidt, Houston, Minn.; one uncle, Rev. Phil (Elaine) Schmidt, St. Cloud, Minn.; and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Winona.
