Visitors to austindailyherald.com today are seeing a complete overhaul and redesign of the site, which originally launched in 1999.

Along with a new look, the new austindailyherald.com will feature continuous updating, news videos, interactive maps, blogs and photo sharing.

Readers can expect to see fresh content on the new Web site throughout the day, rather than the morning and late-evening updates that have until now been standard practice.

The Herald began experimenting with video on its current site last month, and with the new site, will begin posting new videos regularly. These videos will complement news and feature stories, and will also include event coverage, such as school concerts and social events.

Many more features will be added to the site in the next few months.
