A single-car crash involving three young adults on County Road 25 led to air tranport of one passenger to Rochester and possible charges for the driver, according to Mower County Chief Deputy Mark May.
May said the three — 19-year-old Lisa Wagner, 21-year-old Mick Carranza and a 21-year-old male — were returning from the Twin Cities to Austin Sunday around 5:30 a.m. when their 2000 Chrysler 300 overshot a curve and went airborne, landing near a driveway at 25801 540th Ave.
May said authorities couldn’t immediately determine who was driving the vehicle. He said Carranza was taken by Mayo One to St. Marys Hospital due to a severe wound to his forehead. He is listed in fair condition, according to a St. Marys spokesperson.
According to May, the second passenger, Wagner, was treated and released for injuries at Austin Medical Center.
The driver was taken into custody after taking a portable breath test, which should a 0.14 blood alcohol level, May said, adding that the 21-year-old refused medical treatment at the scene.
He may face charges, May said. None have been filed to date.
