Letter: Vilt’s column jogs fond memories

Although I haven’t lived in Austin since my HS graduation in 1961, I love reading the Austin Daily Herald and especially Bob Vilt’s column. Since he was also a 1961 AHS grad he knows and writes about so many people and places that I remember so fondly if my memory just gets a slight jog. July 16 it was Miss Martini, our math teacher and also my dad’s math teacher, who made his column. But not too long ago he wrote about Miss Frost our sixth-grade teacher at Banfield. Wow! That really brought back those happy days and especially how she read us the book Caddie Woodlawn, taught me the joy of a library, and made me a life-long book lover. She was definitely a teacher who knew how her student’s minds worked!
