The Packer volleyball team showed some heart, but couldn’t take a game in loss at Faribault by scores of 21-25, 20-25, 26-28 Thursday.

Austin (4-5 overall, 1-2 Big Nine) mounted a comeback in all three games, but couldn’t get a win. They trailed 10-4 early in the third game, 15-9 early in the second game and 4-0 to start the first game.

Austin’s middle hitter Rebekah Aase had 13 kills, while going on 15-for-16 on serves with two aces, but she had no blocks.

“They did a nice job covering their hitters,” Austin head coach Darica Schneider said. “For Rebekah to not have a block is vary rare. One of Faribault’s blocks flew about 32 feet into the stands. The power at the net was very intense.”

Schneider was pleased with how her team came back in every game and said the Packers just had a little trouble with some adjustments.

“I don’t think we played poorly. We are just starting to play at a faster tempo and there may have been a little confusion,” Schneider said. “Also, their libero had some amazing digs tonight. She was everywhere.”

Jolene Brody had 10 serve receives without an error, as well as 18 digs for Austin, Ellen Ettinger had 21 assists, while going 14-for-14 on serves with two aces, Singin Ojulu had seven kills, and Emily Weiss had a block.
