First, Hardee’s I closed.
Now, Hardee’s II has closed.
The fast food restaurant at 1300 14th Street Northwest in Austin closed this week.
A sign on the doors to the restaurant greeted customers with the news Monday morning.
According to Mike Hoff, it was a combination of the lease expiring on the facility and sour economic conditions.
The MRG Management Inc. executive said, “Our lease expired on the location and the combination of bad economic conditions caused the closing.”
MRG Management Inc. manages 18 Hardee’s restaurants in the Upper Midwest.
The Hardee’s I restaurant was located at the intersection of West Oakland Avenue and Fourth Street before closing four years ago.
Today, a video store occupies the location.
Hardee’s II occupied a seemingly prime fast food restaurant spot. It was only a couple of blocks from the U.S. Highway 218 North intersection with Interstate 90, next to a convenience store and McDonald’s restaurant and near both the Key Apartments and Riverland Community College.
MRG Management Inc., is based at Brooklyn Park.
Hoff said there are no plans to close any other Hardee’s restaurants managed by the firm.
