Letter: Thanks for helping out

The 12th annual Mower County Humane Society Walk for Animals was held on Sept. 7 at Austin’s Mill Pond. We would like to pass along a heartfelt thank you to all who made this event a success again this year. A huge thank you to all who gathered pledges and turned in approximately $15,000 to be used for ongoing expenses incurred at our shelter.

We would also like to thank area businesses who donated items to be used at the Walk.

Thank you to the local media for the outstanding PR work done on behalf of the Walk. Special thanks to Barry Rush of Rush Hour for the use of a sound system and for being the Master of Ceremony, to Nini Johnson for her pet portrait talents, to the Austin Park and Rec for the extra help given to put on this event, and lastly, to Andy Gray and his therapy dog, Kaja, for leading all the walkers safely around Mill Pond!
