The Austin girls tennis team (10-2 overall, 5-1 Big Nine) beat Manakto West 5-2 in Mankato Tuesday.

No. 3 singles player Catherine Wagner won both of her sets 6-0 over Kelli Johnson of West.

“Catherine Wagner played exceptional tennis today and blew her opponent off the court,” Austin head coach Thomas Tauchnitz said. “Catherine got Kelli down and then the bulldog takes over in her. She never lets up and puts extreme pressure on her opponent.”

Austin will host Mayo at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
