Packer tennis team rolls past John Marshall

The Austin tennis team (8-2 overall, 4-1 Big Nine) beat John Marshall 6-1 Thursday in Austin.

The Packers top three singles players — Hanna Middlebrook, Kathryn Gavin, and Catherine Wagner all were quick to win their matches in two sets.

The longest match of the day came from Austin’s No. 4 singles player, Nina Carney — who fell to Sarah Leichty in a super tiebreaker.

Carney took an early lead in the first set with a 6-0 win, but she couldn’t hang on.
