Former All-State Austin Packer will host basketball clinic Saturday

There will be an Austin Youth Basketball clinic this Saturday at Austin High School.

The clinic will be hosted by Theresa Lang-Schmidt, a 1995 grad of Austin High school who scored 1,000 points in her career with the Packers.

The camp clinic will run from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. for girls in grades fourth through sixth, and will go from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. for girls in grades seventh through eighth.

Lang-Schmidt has a school record for scoring 37 points in a game; she was All-Big Nine, All-State, and a finalist for Miss Basketball for Minnesota.

While playing on a basketball scholarship at North Dakota State, Lang-Schmidt was NCAA Woman of the Year Finalist, North Central Conference All-Academic first team, Kodak All-America Team, honorable mention, and All NCCC first team. Lang-Schmidt also was voted Inspirational Amateur Athlete and holds NDSU records in three-point shooting.

Girls Interested in still joining Austin Youth Basketball can come and join on Saturday.
