It’s just now Halloween?

In case you didn’t notice the swashbuckler behind the counter at McDonald’s, today is Halloween. It almost seems like the trick or treating should have been long gone by now, considering that stores began stocking the candy and the costumes this past summer.

Nevertheless, today’s the day.

We wish everyone a Happy Halloween, especially in this Indian summer weather we’ve been having this week.

Mower County Sheriff Terese Amazi urges motorists to use more caution tonight and parents to make sure there is reflecting clothing on costumes, the kids aren’t tripping over anything, they can see out their mask and they have a flashlight or lighted device with them.

And of course, kids are cautioned to not eat any candy until the parents check it.

It seems like it’s the same drill every year as it has been for decades, but it’s that important, even in southern Minnesota.
