Patricia Hegge, 74
Patricia Hegge, 74, of Grand Meadow, formerly of Austin, died on Dec. 15, 2008 at the Grand Meadow Healthcare Center in Grand Meadow following a battle with cancer. She had resided at the care center since August.
Patricia was born on May 6, 1934 in Austin, to Bernard and Anna (Johnson) Murphy. She attended school through the eighth grade, at that time she quit school to help take care of her siblings. She was united in marriage to Vernon Eugene Hegge on Jan. 8, 1952 in Rose Creek, Minn. He died in 1983. Patricia was a homemaker. She enjoyed summer trips traveling with her grandchildren to visit family members, listening to Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash and she also volunteered for many years at the Eagles Club in Austin. Pat had moved to Austin in 1985 and moved back to Grand Meadow in August of 2006.
She is survived by her children, Judy (Pat) Stier, Racine, Jim (Elaine) Hegge Kewanee, Ill., Jean (Joe) Stier, Grand Meadow, Jeff (Jeannie) Hegge, Mission, Texas, Jerry (Tammie) Hegge, Centennial, Colo., Jason (Shelly) Hegge, Aurora, Colo.; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Donna Numsen Lacrosse, Wis., Catherine (Bill) Klingfus Austin, Nancy O’Rourke, Lakeville, Minn.; two brothers, Bernard Jr. (Joan) Murphy, Aurora, Colo. and Tim (Merry) Murphy, Collinsville, Okla.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; grandson, Adam; two great-grandchildren, Hope and Isreal.
A memorial mass for will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008 at St. Finbarr Catholic Church with the Father Steve Peterson officiating. Burial will be in the Church cemetery. Friends may call at the Hindt Funeral Home in Grand Meadow from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
