No cause found for fire that destroyed rural Racine home

There still has been no cause given for a fire that destroyed a small rural home near Racine Tuesday.
The fire destroyed a small house on property owned by Don Zimmerman at 77931 270th St.
Zimmerman, who was on vacation at the time of the fire, was renting it to Doug Roller, 29, and Melissa McConnell, 25.
According to the Mower County Sheriff’s Office, James Johnson, 26, of Grand Meadow witnessed the blaze at just before 4 p.m. When the first deputy arrived on the seen the house was fully engulfed.
Neither Roller,nor McConnell were home at the time, but four dogs in the house died.
Grand Meadow Fire responded and put out the blaze.
There is no cause nor damage estimate, but according to the report, the house is a total loss.
