The lively group has Matt Stier on the fiddle; Brenda Stier on the bodhran and whistle; Melissa (Steir) Schmidt on the mandolin and whistle; and Larry Schmidt on the guitar.

The group enjoys performing the music that is most dear to their hearts:  Foot stomping , hand-clapping sing-a-longs,  sea shanties, rollicking fiddle tunes, original compositions, and  the beautiful and romantic ballads of  Irish genre.

Throughout the years, the band has performed at hundreds of functions, big and small.  Fairgrounds, festivals, weddings,  business parties, and concerts are all familiar to this group.

The Irish Minstrels also sing and perform Christmas concerts and parties.

Each St. Patrick’s Day, the band makes a pilgrimage to Austin’s historic Paramount Theatre to delight their fans.

The Irish Minstrel’s new “Emerald Isle” CD, recorded in Dublin, includes their own arrangements of classical, ancient Irish, Scottish and Welch tunes, as well as the band’s own new original instrumentals. The Irish Minstrels have toured Ireland twice, singing and performing in Dublin and in many towns all along the western and southern coasts.
