Hayfield grad selected Wartburg’s ‘Rookie of the Year’

The Wartburg College women’s basketball team recently named Leslie Wilson, a 2008 Hayfield graduate, as team rookie of the year.
Wilson played in all 27 games for the Knights, averaging 22.4 minutes, 4.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and a team-high 1.6 steals per contest, while maintaining a team high 1.3 assist to turnover ratio.
Wilson, a freshman at Wartburg, shot 44 percent (51-for-115) from the field, 53 percent (8-for-15) from the three-point arc, and 50 percent (16-for-32) from the free throw line.
Wilson led the Knights in rebounding five times this past season.
Wartburg, which is located in Waverly, Iowa, finished the season with a 16-11 overall record.
