The Lyle/Pacelli golf teams opened their seasons in Houston Friday. The boys lost 171-192 and the girls had an incomplete score as just three golfers scored for them.

Alex Brennan led the boys with a 45, while Matt Buntje had a 47, Justin Hutchinson shot a 49 and Dylan Fett shot a 51.

Houston’s Sevie Knutson was meet medalist with a 39.

“It wasn’t a real bad showing for our first time outside, but we do have room for improvement,” L/P head coach Mark Buntje said. “It was just nice to get out and play.”

For the girls, Emily Leif shot a 49, Jenny Marx had a 56, and Abby Leif had a 59.

Houston’s Kate Johnson was medalist with a 46.

“This was a good way for the girls to start the year and by the time the year is done we should have four golfers we can score,” Buntje said.

Houston’s girls had a score of 232.
