Math Masters is a nice option

It’s important for students to get a well-rounded education, including a good balance of both academics and extracurricular activities. Some college admission programs give a hard look to a student’s interests outside the classroom, including sports, music and dance.
But for some, sports, dance and music may not be right for them.
Luckily for local elementary students, they have options.
Banfield Elementary offers high-level fifth graders a chance to participate in Math Masters, which allows students to come to school early and do math. The students are presently preparing for a contest later this month, while the sixth grade competition was held last month at Ellis Middle School. The program also seems to be thriving statewide.
Math Masters is a good choice for students who simply may not be interested in other activities or are looking for one more to join.
A well-rounded education can lead to success in the future, and Austin area students are fortunate to have a wide variety of options.
