The Riverland baseball team continues to roll.
The Blue Devils swept Minnesota West in Austin Saturday 11-1, 13-0, before doing it again at Minnesota West Sunday 5-0, 1-0.
“Right now, we’re playing well,” said Riverland baseball coach Scott Koenigs, whose team improved to 26-7 overall.
On Saturday, Brandon Huhn pitched six innings for Riverland, struck out eight and went three for four at the plate, including a three-run home run in the fourth.
Zach Vliestra finished four for five, while Shawn Pape was two for three with a double.
“It was a great performance for the first game,” Koenigs said. “It kind of set the tone for the day.”
In game two, Brady Banse secured the win on the mound for the Blue Devils, while Huhn and Pape both went three for three at the plate.
The Riverland offense combined for 13 runs on 13 hits with no errors in the game.
On Sunday, the Blue Devils used strong pitching and defense to score the wins.
On offense, the Blue Devils are now batting .325 as a team.
