Storm Draayer has won 12 power lifting trophies since he began competing when he was only 3 1/2 years old.
Eleven were for first-place finishes. The other was for finishing second.
He added 2 more championship trophies after competing in the 2009 National Athlete Strength Association’s Iowa state championships Saturday, April 11, at Des Moines, Iowa.

The child both bench- and dead-lifted to win the titles.

He has 2 sisters: Crystal and Kyra.
His father is also a power lifter. Both father and son work out at TJ’s Gym in Austin .
A total of 112 lifters participated in the April 11 Iowa state championship event.
The youth was sponsored by Coromega, a diet supplement, and John Dowd, a power lifter.
The child is a fifth grader at Neveln Elementary School in Austin. He was 10 years old at the time of the competition, but has since turned 11.
His next power lifting test will come at the Minnesota regional qualifying rounds in August at the Twin Cities.
He is preparing for the 2009 NASA powerlifting world championship competition in October at Las Vegas.
“This was his best-ever contest,” said his father. “I’m proud of him.”
When not working out and power lifting, the youth enjoys playing video games in his spare time.
