If the warm weather has you craving margaritas, your options are about to increase.
Management for the El Patron Mexican Bar and Grill says their restaurant, located on Eighth Street across from Wal-Mart in Austin, is scheduled to open in less than two weeks.
Jose Zavala, manager, and Jose Lopez, co-owner, were making finishing touches Tuesday, including finalizing the menu and discussing opening day specials.
“We want to make it a fun place, with enjoyable food and make our customers feel welcome, like they’re with friends and family,” Zavala says. Customers can expect a variety of menu items, including burritos, chimichangas and fajitas, all served in a setting that includes a full bar.
“The margaritas are going to be the best,” Zavala says.
Lopez lives in Des Moines, Iowa, and owns restaurants in his home state and in Wisconsin. Zavala recently moved to Austin from Virginia.
“The key to good Mexican food is to try to give customers whatever they like,” Zavala says. “Whatever the customer would like, we’ll make it for them.”
