Sheriff’s Posse Ride set Aug. 23

The fifth annual “Sheriff’s Posse Ride,” a fundraiser for the American Red Cross, will take place on Sunday, Aug. 23.
Sheriffs involved in the Posse Ride include Mark Harig of Freeborn County, Gary Ringhofer of Steele County, Gary Thompson, recently retired, from Dodge County and new Sheriff Jim Trihey of Dodge County, among several other sheriffs out of southern Minnesota counties.
Participants can register for the Posse Ride online at www.southcentralmn.redcross.org or the day of the ride between 8 and 10 a.m. at one of the following check points: Bergdale Harley Davidson in Albert Lea, the Detention Center on 2500 Alexander St. in Owatonna, Riverside Park in downtown Mantorville, Harley Davidson in Faribault, Clear Lake Park in Waseca and Harley Davidson in Mankato.
Group rides with sheriffs will leave check points at 9 a.m. Check points close at 4 p.m. The ride is open to anyone in any vehicle.
This year’s Posse Ride ends at Riverside Park in downtown Mantorville, where a meal and group photo are scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
The full package registration fee is $30 (single rider) or $55 (rider and passenger). All proceeds from the event go to American Red Cross Chapters throughout the seven-county area.
