An assisted living home in south Austin reported $900 stolen from a secured box Thursday.

A manager at Whispering Pines, 1916 Fourth St. S.E., told the Mower County Sheriff’s Office that the money was stolen sometime between Wednesday and Thursday.

The manager said the cash was stolen from a locked box and that whoever took it apparently used a key because the box was not damaged.

The investigation is ongoing.
