An Austin man faces a felony drug charge after allegedly selling methamphetamine to an undercover agent.
Esteban Ambriz Mendoza, 33, was charged Wednesday with one count of first degree drug sales. He is in Mower County custody on $1,000,000 bail.
According to a court complaint, Mendoza and an agent with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension made arrangements to meet July 14 near the Bremerton apartments in Austin.
Mendoza pulled up in a vehicle next to the BCA agent’s car and offered to sell two ounces of meth at $1,800 per ounce, the complaint states.
Mendoza left to retrieve the drugs and returned about 25 to 30 minutes later. The agent took the meth and later brought it to a lab for processing.
On Tuesday, Mendoza met the same undercover agent in Albert Lea for a second sale, this time for three pounds of meth. Mendoza was arrested during the transaction.
No court date has been set.
