An Austin man was arrested and two pounds of marijuana seized following a Thursday search by a regional drug task force.

The Southeast Minnesota Narcotics and Gang Task Force searched 710 10th Ave. S.W. around 7 a.m. and arrested a 28-year-old man after they found the drug stash in an upstairs bedroom.

Officers also found smaller bags of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and scales in the house.

Other people present during the search said the drugs belonged to the 28-year-old suspect.

He is in custody and awaiting charges.

The task force is composed of various local agencies, including the Austin Police Department and the Mower County Sheriff’s Office. Both assisted in Thursday’s search.
