The Michael H. Seibel Family Visitation and Exchange Center will be celebrating one year in Austin Monday evening.

The center allows parents a secure place to visit their children or make exchanges with other family members in situations involving divorce, domestic assault or protection orders, among other things. More than 160 families have visited for a total of roughly 1,600 hours since the center opened, director Heather Steinkamp said.

The celebration is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with a special program planned for 5:30 p.m. to talk about successes and lessons learned, as well as to answer questions.

The center is located at 105 First St. S.E.
