A 15-year-old Austin boy was arrested Friday and faces a felony charge for taking part in an alleged burglary.
Police were called to a home on the 500 block of Seventh Avenue Northeast by a neighbor at around 8 p.m.
The neighbor said she had seen three teenage boys nosing around the home earlier that evening and she told them to leave, according to a police report.
She said they returned and entered the home, which the neighbor said was unoccupied because the owner was out of town.
The boy was arrested at the scene trying to flee; the two other boys were able to get away.
A subsequent search of the boy’s grandmother’s house, on the 300 block of Third Street Southeast, uncovered a number of stolen electronic items reported missing from the burglarized home, including two laptop computers, a few gaming consoles and some games.
The boy was taken to the Many Rivers Juvenile Detention Center in Rochester.
