An Austin man faces felony forgery charges following a car accident in town.
Pablo Calvo Grave, 25, is wanted on a warrant for two counts of aggravated forgery. The charges were filed Tuesday in Mower County court.
According to a court complaint, Grave was involved in an accident with one other vehicle on July 14. The responding officer asked for identification, and Grave provided an international driver’s license.
A subsequent local records search turned up the name “Carlos Israel Merced” for Grave’s address, 713 Second Ave. N.E.
Pictures linked with the “Merced” name matched Grave’s physical appearance, according to the complaint.
Records obtained by authorities from Quality Pork Processors indicate that “Merced” had been working there but hadn’t showed up in recent days and was fired.
The complaint states that Grave had been using the “Merced” alias to work illegally.
