An Austin Township woman was trampled by a horse Friday at her residence, likely breaking her leg.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to 19303 546th Ave. that evening to find Dona Holvick, 69, caught under the horse in a pen.

A witness was able to control the horse, according to a report, while deputies helped Holvick out of the pen.

She suffered an apparent broken leg and was taken by ambulance to the Austin Medical Center.

Her condition was not immediately available Thursday.

The report did not indicate why the horse acted aggressively.
