Hormel Foods is adding roughly 3,600 square feet to its Austin plant campus that will house an existing operation and will be located south of the main building.
“We started construction on this project in August, 2009,” said Julie H. Craven, vice president of corporate communications at Hormel Foods. “The project is expected to be finished in January 2010.”
Craven said Hormel will be “moving a skinning operation at our plant to occupy the new space.”
The cost of the project is estimated at $1 million.
“Our focus at Hormel Foods is to bring quality, value-added brands to the global marketplace,” Craven said.
