The Austin volleyball team fell to Rochester Century by scores of 25-8, 25-15, 25-18 in Packer Gym Thursday night.
The Packers (0-3 overall, 0-2 Big Nine) may have lost, but they made some serious strides on the court.
“The scores don’t who how we played. We were a fast paced hustling team that played much better then we have all season,” Austin head coach Darica Schneider said. “It’ just that every time we scored one, they would score two. They didn’t have any big runs on us.”
Bri Mayer had seven kills, two assist blocks and one solo block for the Packers, Emily Weiss had two assist blocks and one solo block, Ashley Follmuth had nine digs and was 22-for-25 on serve receives, Julia Wagner had 11 serve receives, Meg Brucker had two assist blocks and one solo block, Jenna Svoboda had seven assists and five digs and Kayla Rodgers had five assists.
“The girls looked more in tune and we’re seeing glimpses of what they can do,” Schneider said.
