Patricia Hanson

Patricia Ann (Lund) Hanson passed away Monday, Sept 21. She was born Oct. 5, 1931 in Heron Lake, Minn.
Patricia attended Red, White and Blue school and graduated from Windom High School. On Sept. 14, 1952 she married Dean Hanson in the Amo Lutheran Church in Storden, Minn. They moved to Austin in 1954 to start and raise their family.
She was a consummate homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening. Her children and, later in her life, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. She was a woman of quick wit who loved a good card game, her family and friends. She was an avid fan of the Vikings and Twins.
In 2000 she moved to the Cedars Apartments in Austin where she made many good friends and served on the resident’s advisory council.
Patricia was a long-time member of St. Olaf Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents Herman and Caroline Lund, husband Dean and brother-in-law Larry Utech.
She is survived by sons Richard (Patti) of North Mankato, Minn., Scott (Jeanie) of Kasson, Minn. and Mike (Kara) of Duluth, Minn.; grandchildren: Christopher, Emily, Lyndsey and Brady (Carin); great-grandchildren, Dylan and Peter; and sister, Marlene Utech of McGregor, Minn.
A service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23 with visitation one hour prior at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, 306 Second St. N.W. in Austin. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Mayer Funeral Home. Memorials preferred to St. Olaf Lutheran Church or the American Lung Association.
