Train cars derail

Three locomotives went off the tracks near Fourth Avenue and Fifth Place southeast Tuesday morning, but none tipped and no one was injured.
Crews were able to drive one of the DM&E engines back on the tracks, but the two others had to be lifted back on.
The locomotives went no farther than a foot off the tracks.
The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m., and some roads were closed and school buses rerouted during the afternoon, Austin police Lt. John Mueller said.
Lifting equipment was operating by 4:30 p.m., Mueller said, and the area is expected to be fully clear for traffic Wednesday.
The section of track where the trains went off had previously been scheduled for replacement, according to city engineer Jon Erichson.
That project is scheduled for next week.
