A fire in Lyle Tuesday destroyed a trailer home but injured no one.

The blaze occurred at 11994 585th Ave., which housed a trailer belonging to Darla Tufte, 59.

She called the Lyle Fire Department at around 3:30 p.m. when she smelled smoke near the water heater.

Tufte and several grandchildren safely fled from the home before fire fighters arrived.

The destroyed trailer is a $30,000 loss, according to a sheriff’s report.

The exact cause of the fire is unknown.
