No one was injured when a vehicle caught fire Sunday in northwest Austin.

A 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix belonging to Jarod Jacobson, 34, caught fire when a woman started it on the 600 block of 11th Avenue Northwest around 11 a.m.

Jacobson was outside the vehicle and noticed smoke coming from the hood, according to a police report.

The woman, who is not further identified in the report, was able to safely exit the vehicle.

The report states that “extensive damage” was done to the car but does not indicate an estimated loss in dollars.
