Edwin Ferguson

Edwin Robert Ferguson, 93, of Austin, Minn. died on Jan. 19, 2010, at Good Samaritan Society Comforcare in Austin.
He was born in Wonewoc, Wisc., on Dec. 30, 1916, the son of Robert and Laura (Solchenberger) Ferguson. Ed married Waunetta Carnes in 1939. He built 33 homes in the Austin area including their home. He was a mechanic for many years at Hormels until his retirement.
Ed enjoyed riding motorcycle, building and working on homes, snowmobiling and fishing. He and his family previously had a place on the Mississippi River where they spent most of their summers. Ed loved to invent things and could fix almost anything that needed fixing. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Ed is survived by his children, Darleen (Duane) Hansen, Rochester, Minn., Doris Plotts (James) Stalboerger, Belgrade, Minn., Donnamae Boettcher and (friend Lefty Arett), Bullhead City, Ariz., Danny Ferguson and (friend Jill Winkels) Austin; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 8 great- great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Gilbert (Bonnie) Ferguson, Austin, Leora (Charles) Wyant, Austin, Robert (Donna) Ferguson, Janesville, Wisc.; sister-in-law, Gracie Ferguson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Laura; wife, Waunetta; brother, John; and sisters, Margaret, LaVern and Roberta; son-in-law, Frank Plotts and grandson Gary Plotts.
A memorial service for Ed will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, 2010 at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary Chapel in Austin, with Chaplin Theresa Turnbull officiating. Visitation will be for one hour before service. Burial will be at the Grandview Memorial Cemetery following the service. A social gathering will be held at 3 p.m. in the basement of the Elks Club, Austin.
In Lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Comforcare Good Samaritan in Austin.
Clasen-Jordan Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
