Two men stabbed during fight

Two men are in custody and face assault charges after a fight broke out at a party last night, leaving at least two people with stab wounds.
Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Fourth Avenue Northeast shortly after a fight at a residence around 8 p.m. last night.
Officers found a 20-year-old Austin man near the Tender Maid Sandwich Shop. The man said he was drinking with friends and went outside for a cigarette. The man told police a fight had started when he returned to the party, and he tried to break it up. The man was treated at Austin Medical Center for a stab wound to the leg. His right index finger and head were also cut in the incident.
An 18-year-old man taken to the Law Enforcement Center for questioning admitted to stabbing the 20-year-old. The man, who said he was pushed down a fight of stairs during the fight, was treated at Austin Medical Center for a cut to his thumb.
Both men are in police custody and face assault and minor consumption charges. A police investigation is ongoing, and additional charges are possible.
