Winter weather advisory continues through Thursday night

Mower County continues to be in a winter weather advisory through Thursday night, according to the National Weather Service.
The wintry weather has made travel difficult in Austin, where temperatures are expected to plunge to 8 below zero Thursday night with blowing snow.
Windchill values Thursday afternoon may reach as low as 16 below zero as winds gusts could exceed 33 miles per hour.
Temperatures are not forecasted to be much warmer the next few days.
The NWS expects a high temperature Friday of zero with a low of 16 below. Saturday’s high will be around 4 degrees, with a low of 4 below zero.
Things begin to warm up next week as highs for Sunday and Monday are expected to be 18 each day. Tuesday should see a high of near 20, with Wednesday being a heat wave compared to this week at a high of near 28.
