An Austin man accused of possessing child pornography on a computer was sentenced to five-years probation Friday and will pay roughly $2,000 in court fines.
David Allen Wiseman, 54, of 507 Eighth St. NE, previously pleaded guilty to two felony counts of possessing pornographic material in September.
According to a court complaint, Wiseman’s home was searched April 9 by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension after the department received a tip, spokeswoman Janell Rasmussen said. Who made the tip and when it was received was not made public.
The search uncovered 96 image files and five videos of minors performing sexual acts, according to the complaint.
His computers were seized, and Wiseman admitted to downloading the material from a file sharing Web site called BearShare.
Wiseman was originally charged June 26.
