Hayfield guard Bobbie Stephens drilled six first half threes as the Vikings shot their way to a 75-55 win over Kasson/Mantorville in Hayfield Friday.
Stephens, a sophomore, finished with 24 points as he knocked down seven of 10 threes on the night and Hayfield (9-11 overall) hit 61 percent (11-for-18) of its threes.
“We did a good job of making the extra pass and screening,” Hayfield head coach Chris Pack said. “We made a point to get it to Bobbie and he was on fire.”
Freshman forward Brady Kramer made his second start of the season for Hayfield and he delivered 14 points.
“Brady attacked the basket and he gives us a different dimension on offense,” Pack said.
K/M (11-7 overall) beat Hayfield 65-48 in the teams’ first meeting Jan. 12.
Hayfield scoring: Stephens, 24; Brady Kramer, 14; Tanner Kramer, 12; Kody Kramer, 12; Clint Bergene, 4; Cole Kruger, 3; Tyler Anderson, 2; Cody Dietrich, 2; Brady Stevens, 2; free throws: 55 percent (10-for-18)
