An Austin woman suffered minor injuries Tuesday when she was pinned against her car in the Hy-Vee parking lot by an 82-year-old driver.
According to the police report, Susan Stoulil, 51, received medical attention on-scene for a sore leg, but she suffered no fractures and was not taken by ambulance.
The incident occurred at around 4:20 p.m. when Stoulil was loading groceries into her Toyota Camry in the grocery store’s drive-through pickup lane. The 82-year-old woman, who was driving past Stoulil, said she was fumbling with a pickup ticket and became distracted, according to the report. She then pinned Stoulil between the bumpers of the two vehicles for roughly 15 to 30 seconds without noticing.
A nearby Hy-Vee employee ran up to the woman and told her to back up, the report states.
Stoulil was treating her leg injury with an ice pack when officers arrived. She later went to the Austin Medical Center with her husband for an evaluation. No citations were issued against the 82-year-old driver, though the two parties did exchange insurance information, the report states.
