A 68-year-old Austin man told police Tuesday that a vehicle hit him then sped away the evening before in an area parking lot.
Russell Farrell said he was walking in the Culver’s restaurant parking lot at around 5:30 p.m. Monday when a blue car hit him and caused him to spin into the bumper of his own vehicle, according to a police report.
The car, identified as a Chevrolet of unknown make or model, then fled the scene.
Farrell said he initially didn’t feel the incident was worth reporting, but he woke up Tuesday with soreness in his left leg and some bruising, the report states. He checked himself in at the Austin Medical Center and called police later that day.
According to the report, the Chevrolet had four passengers in it at the time of the incident, but no suspects have been identified.
