An Austin man accused of molesting a 14-year-old girl numerous times over the last year pleaded not guilty to six counts of felony sexual conduct Thursday.
James Carle Spencer, 37, will appear in court for a pre-trial hearing June 11. His trial would then begin June 21.
According to a criminal complaint, the teenage girl said Spencer began touching her inappropriately about a year ago. She said over the past 12 months, the sexual conduct became more frequent and more serious. Overall, the girl said she was touched between 70 and 90 times. She also said Spencer had intercourse with her.
The alleged victim said incidents occurred both in Austin and in Brownsdale, the complaint states. The most recent incident allegedly occurred Feb. 10.
The complaint also states that Spencer admitted to abusing the girl to two of his relatives.
