AHS presents ‘Alibis’

A famous actress, a real Prima Donna, will throw a party and end up dead tonight, again— on the Knowlton Auditorium stage.
Thursday was opening night for the Austin High School drama department’s “Alibis.” The whodunit, howdunit is performed again tonight and tomorrow at 7 p.m.
“It’s a great ensemble performance,” said director Leland Bissenger. “It’s both a whodunit mystery and a spoof of those mysteries.”
It’s up to the audience tonight and tomorrow to figure out the who and how of the murder plot, written by Peter Kennedy, and performed by an AHS cast of nine.
The cast includes a stuffy butler, a social butterfly, a playboy, a dotty chemist, an aristocrat, a nun who has taken a vow of silence, a part-time detective, a French maid and a mysterious stranger.
As the body count grows, it will be the guests who contend with interruptions, revelations, tacky special effects, and the arrival of a mysterious visitor.
“At one point, the butler dies, pulls out his script and scootches over because he realizes he’s not on mark,” Bissenger said.
Tickets are $5 for students and $7 for adults.
