Eileen Kay Tienter, 59, of Grand Meadow, died Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Seasons Hospice in Rochester, Minn. where she had resided for about three days.
Eileen Kay Harrington was born Feb. 26, 1951 in Austin to Everett and Iola (Carlson) Harrington. She attended and graduated from LeRoy High School and attended nursing school for two years. Eileen was united in marriage to Roger Tienter at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Spring Valley. Over the years she worked for Allen’s Memorial Home, Methodist Hospital in Rochester, the Nursing Home in Preston and for the Ostrander Care Center. Eileen enjoyed fishing, camping, going to the casino, traveling, flowers and gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Roger of Grand Meadow; three sons, Kevin (Sandy) Harrington of Rochester, Kyle Sanders of Spring Valley and Kory Sanders of Riceville, Iowa; three step-children, Roger Tienter, Lorinda (David) VanTries and Rodney Tienter, all of Spring Valley, Minn.; one granddaughter, Hope; and five step- grandchildren, Christine, Heather, Roger, Cady and Victor; two sisters, Barb (Loren) Berge of Osage, Iowa and Bonnie (Glen) McKenna of Chester, Iowa; three brothers, Dick (Sandra) Harrington of Charles City, Iowa, Bob (Pat) Harrington of LeRoy, Minn. and Randy (Debbie) Harrington of Rochester, Minn. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one niece, Lori; and one great-nephew, Andy.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 3, 2010 at the Hindt Funeral Home in Spring Valley with the Rev. Carol Shaffer officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
