Presentation series on autism starts Monday

Austin’s Community Learning Center is offering a series of presentations, beginning Monday, in recognition of April as Autism Awareness Month.
The first presentation “Andrew’s Story — A Journey Back from Autism” is Monday in the Austin High School Annex Auditorium from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Julie Heinks will talk about her family’s journey with Autism and the book she wrote about it.
Future presentations take place at the high school through May.
A “First Signs Program” takes place Monday, April 26 from 6 to 8 p.m.; “Strategies for Working with Children with ASD” will be presented Monday, May 10 from 6 to 8 p.m.; and an “ASD Young Adult Panel” is Monday, May 17 from 6 to 8 p.m.
The presentations are open to the public and registration for each is $10.
