The UW-Eau Claire women’s golf team had the day’s best round and is in second place out of 20 teams at the NCAA Division III Championship in Howey in the Hills, Florida Wednesday.
Austin grad Catherine Wagner tied for the low score on the day with a 77 for the Blugolds and she is tied for 11th overall with a two-day score of 163.
Wagner, a freshman at UW-EC, also claimed the NGCA Division III Freshman of the Year award and she was an NCGA Division III All-American.
Wagner is currently second on the team with an average of 79.8 strokes per round. She has finished five tournaments in fifth place or better while she tied for first at the Central College Invitational earlier this spring.
