Four Austin residents were arrested and a small amount of methamphetamine seized following a Tuesday morning drug search in northwest Austin.
The search occurred at 505 Fifth Ave. NW. Members of the Austin Police Department, the Mower County Sheriff’s Office and the Southeast Minnesota Narcotics and Gang Taskforce conducted the raid.
Lt. Brian Krueger of the APD said the search was the result of an ongoing investigation by the SEMNGTF.
The four arrested — two females, ages 27 and 22, and two males, ages 27 and 31 — are in custody and awaiting formal charges.
Inside the residence, officers found meth and marijuana paraphernalia, as well as just less than 1 gram of meth in a plastic baggy. A syringe loaded with an unknown substance was also recovered in a bathroom, according to a police report.
Krueger said testing to determine what the substance is has not been completed.
The search was executed without incident.
