Travel around the world, without ever leaving your seat, at Riverland Community College Friday.
Riverland music ensemble groups Frequency, College Choir and Instrumental Ensemble present their spring concert “Around the World with Riverland” Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Twenty-seven Riverland musicians are a part of the spring show that includes an ode to Paris, Latin rhythms, British pop and American jazz among numbers.
The performance will open with five instrumental and vocal ensembles which includes Cole Porter’s “I love Paris” and The Beatle’s “Yesterday.”
Following a 15-minute intermission, five-member vocal group Frequency will present four songs — some by soloists.
The popular songs include “And All That Jazz” from the musical “Chicago,” and a Mark Hayes arrangement of “Over the Rainbow.”
The College Choir takes the stage next for a variety of songs, performed in a few different languages.
Tickets to the concert are $5 for adults; $3 for youth under 18; free for Riverland students.
